Presidential Election 2012 Political Courage Test

Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Candidate selected both pro-choice and pro-life. Hard to choose "sides". While I feel all life is sacred, I support a woman's right to choose in cases of rape, incest, and danger to health (but not as a means of terminating an unwanted pregnancy due to loose moral standards).

[re: do you support reducing Medicaid spending?] & [re: do you support reducing Medicare spending?] People must take better care of their health through life-style changes to reduce doctor visits.
Wants vs. Needs
e) Dedicated to maintenance and upkeep of highway system.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Money buys votes. An independent candidate like myself is already at a great financial disadvantage.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
As long as there is no doubt to guilt, and all avenues of appeal have been exhausted, including DNA confirmation.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
Yes Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
Some bailouts were good; others did not fare as well. Unemployment still around 9%. Keep jobs at home.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
Too many string attached
Yes Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
No Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
[re: Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?] This must be an individual effort. [re: Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?] Off-shore wind energy okay; Drilling for gas okay; Not okay (presently) for oil due to BP disaster.
No Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
Yes Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
No Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
[re: Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?] And operations in other countries as well [re: Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?] Not unless justified by their actions against USA.
Yes Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Background checks make good sense.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Again, people need to take better care of their individual health. Too many people are using medical facilities for routine ailments (especially the E.R.)

Yes Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
[re: Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?] Candidate selected both Yes and No. [re: Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?] Don't understand reason behind this. I would like to know the real intent of the 14th amendment (1868) regarding "All persons born...in the U.S. are citizens of the U.S." as it relates to illegal aliens. It needs to be repealed!
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
However, "civil unions" with legal standing as couples is okay, but not "marriage".
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
As a recipient of SS, I personally do not want to risk that income, but would not deny others from doing so if that was their choice.
1) Stop supporting the rest of the world - charity begins at home. Our problems should be first priority. 2) I ask that every business owner - if he/she could afford to do so - hire at least one employee (even at minimum wage if necessary). That would go a long way to reduce unemployment and stimulate the economy.
